Item Speech Delivered by Prof. Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo, Rector, Ghana Institute of Journalism, on the Occasion of the 15th Congregation of the Ghana Institute Of Journalism, Accra (21st And 22nd April 2022)(UniMAC-GIJ, 2022-04) Vice ChancellorAs always, it is a distinct pleasure on my part to welcome you on behalf of GIJ, the premier journalism and communication training institution in the West African sub-region, to our campus and to our 15th Congregation ceremony. This Congregation marks a significant milestone in our institutional history because it is bound to be the last one for the Institute, as a single and independent tertiary education institution with its own charter. The UMAC Bill which sought to merge the Ghana Institute of Journalism, the Ghana Institute of Languages and the National Film and Television Institute into one university - the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UMAC) has received presidential assent and is now UMAC Act 1059.Item Address by Prof. Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo, Rector, Ghana Institute of Journalism during the Matriculation Ceremony for the 2021/2022 Academic Year(UniMAC-GIJ, 2022-03) Vice ChancellorOn behalf of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission, with oversight responsibility in the absence of Council, Management and students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, it is my pleasure to welcome you all to the 21st Matriculation Ceremony of the Institute. The main objective of this Matriculation exercise is to acquaint you with the fundamental principles, norms and culture of our Institute.
